I've been given permission to post about an upcoming event that I am helping to put on. It's called Walk for Freedom and it is a march to raise awareness of modern day slavery. It is happening on October 14th and it's totally free, and I want to spread the word to anybody who might be interested in joining the walk.
For those of you wondering how we define modern day slavery, it can take the form of child sex slavery, prostitution through drug coercion, child soldiers, indentured servants, and labor with no pay. Some of these things happen in our own city, and that's why we are walking!
